1.In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce lumina, barbital, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, phenylbutazone, amino acids, etc.
2.It is the intermediate of fungicide Isoprothiolane and plant growth regulator indomethacin.
3.It is used for perfume, adhesive, resin additive, electroplate polishing agent and welding flux additive.

It is soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether and pyridine.

Stability
1. Stable under normal temperature and pressure.
Incompatible materials: alkali, oxidizing agent, reducing agent.
