1. Stable under normal temperature and pressure. Incompatible materials: acids, alkalis, reducing agents, oxidizing agents. It is a low-toxicity category. Avoid breathing vapor and contact with skin.
Chemical properties: It is purple when it meets ferric chloride. When hydrolyzed with dilute acid or dilute alkali, acetone, ethanol and carbon dioxide are generated. Under the action of a strong base, two molecules of acetic acid and ethanol are produced. When catalytic reduction, β-hydroxybutyric acid is formed. In the newly distilled ethyl acetoacetate, the enol form accounts for 7% and the ketone form accounts for 93%. When the ethanol solution of ethyl acetoacetate was cooled to -78°C, the ketone compound was precipitated in a crystalline state. If the sodium derivative of ethyl acetoacetate is suspended in dimethyl ether and a slightly less neutralized amount of dry hydrogen chloride gas is passed at -78°C, an oily enol compound can be obtained.
2. This product is less toxic, rat oral LD503.98g/kg. But with moderate irritation and anesthesia, the production equipment should be sealed and well ventilated. Operators are equipped with protective equipment.
